Job Hunting
First, it is important not to job hunt too early. This has resulted
in a number of students who have a job, but yet do not finish their
degree, sometimes with negative consequences once their company learns
that they don't have the degree they promised.
A good rule of thumb is that until you actually have a good portion of
your thesis written, it is too early. It is usually possibly to keep
your TA or RA position for a quarter after you are about done with
your thesis. This will give you much more flexibility in finding a
job, and also give you more of a chance to work on publishing your
work in journals/conferences.
For technical jobs, there are numerous on-line job sites. If there is
a particular industry you are interested in, try googling the
companies in that industry and directly looking on their web sites.
